Health and Safety Training

Highland Council in conjunction with the recognised trade unions has signed a new partnership agreement for the three years to 31st March 2014. Included in it is a commitment to have 30 trade union appointed Health and Safety representatives trained to at least Stage 1 within that period. As the largest trade union UNISON would like to ensure that as many as possible of them are UNISON members. Please contact Munro Ross for further information.
Please also note that the Nest Steps cannot be completed until Stage 1 has been passed and the Diploma is restricted to those who have completed Stage 1 and Next Steps (or Stage 2). All courses are run in Inverness at Highland council premises and Highland council pay all travel and accommodation courses as well as the costs of the tutor from Stow College in Glasgow.
If you are an UNISON member employed elsewhere you will probably be able to attend these courses also as they are open to all under the TUC Education banner, but priority will be given to Highland Council reps.
